Ideal Hosiery

Avenue-by-avenue and street-by-street creeping gentrification is sadly sanitizing Manhattan. Alas one must rush to the Lower East Side (or flee to Brooklyn) should they wish to encounter any of the creative, gritty character that helped make this city so great.

This curious shop on the LES seems an outlet from another era...and perhaps dimension. Does anyone require a hosiery distributor anymore? Does anyone use the word “hosiery” anymore? Could this sign be any more dilapidated or decrepitly charming? We think "no".Preserve a slice of the Big Apple's fading flavor with this striking image.
