Eiffel Moon

The Eiffel Tour is Paris' iconic landmark -- viewed, filmed, painted and photographed millions of times...and yet every glimpse can feel fresh.

Especially when the conditions and heavens conspire to create their own indelible work of art, as they did when this photo was taken.

The bright crescent moon revealed the sky to be a rich blue rather than pitch black, while the clarity of the air and the sharpness of the lighting etched the contrasting crisscross beams of the Tower's structure into the night.
